Style | The Holiday Overdress Stress

Tis the season to dress up, am I right? 

But have you ever been super unsure whether or not to slip those sparkly pumps on or wear the ol' reliable flats? Or better yet, put on that top that shows off those curves or bundle up because you know it will be freezing even if they have an unlimited supply of hot cocoa kind of lifestyle  at this holiday shindig you're heading to. 

Well have no fear, here are a couple of tips to help avoid showing up to an unofficial ugly sweater party in those sparkly pumps and mini dress! 

1. Bring a coat, no matter what
It's your ultimate fail safe. You can keep that bad boy on if the person that opens the door has only fuzzy socks adorning their cold feet.

2. Keep the colors neutral
I know we all love that bright fuzzy green sweater that we've been saving for this exact moment all year but let the accessories shine with the bright colors, it will look put together and chic without over doing it.

3. Take one of those bright accessories off before walking out the door
And when I say bright, I mean that twinkle multi colored blinking light necklace you have around your neck, take it off. Let them hand those out at the party haha

and last but not least

4. Smile :)
Because whatever you decide to wear to this event, as long as you wear it with confidence, who cares about the rest and go have a merry ol' time!

And let's be honest, we all end up sipping on that spiked eggnog with grandpa and listen to old war stories anyways, which is exactly why we agreed to attend in the first place!
